Sacred Space The Natural Method studio is located inside the beautiful Walter Elwood Museum, in the Mansion area of Guy Park Avenue, convenient to St. Mary's Hospital, & routes 5 and 30. We primarily practice in the gazebo outside, with the carress of the breeze and songs of birds to enjoy. Thanks to the sun, sky, trees and breeze, we experience faster and deeper relaxation, and have much more prana available to us! When weather brings us in, we practice in a simple space, hardwood floors, with natural light streaming from up high. Unless it is too cold or dangerously windy, we open doors to fresh air and light to let the prana flow in and through us. We remove our shoes at the front door of the studio space as a powerful symbol of stepping out of our usual mentality. This is a place to be free, and to feel the sacredness of living. Class is a time of innerconnectedness and interconnectedness. Cellphones and the like are required to be off; and while questions & requests for adjustments are welcome, we all resist chatting as best as we can. We do not kill anything here not even an ant. All life is welcome in our sanctuary. If an insect wanders by and makes you uncomfortable, please inform your instructor and she will gladly rescue it. All life and every moment is meaningful. This is a sacred space - no matter where we practice, the time and space we spend in the present moment is sacred. All life is a spiritual experience, and all life happens one moment at a time. Even if just for an hour, we leave behind traveling to the future in our thoughts, and we step beyond replaying the past, and suddenly we feel time slow down, and a richness of emotions and sensations fills us with prana and joy. You are welcome to take that with you off the mat- slow down time and savor every moment for its genuine depth- when we live in the present moment we truly live. We take all measures within our grasp to reduce our negative impact on Mother Earth. We urge you to opt for your electricity to come from 100% wind power through National Grid & Community Energy(newwindenergy.com). We use minimal electricity, natural light when possible. We recycle, and take batteries, cell phones and printer cartriges to be recycled (when possible they are donated to charities that recycle them to raise funds). We urge you to turn your old newspapers into wrapping paper and magazines into art work. We are committed to providing a positive, nurturing, sacred space for all life, including Mother Earth.
